The weather in England is variable, so we recommend you look at a detailed weather forecast online before packing. Usually, it is wise to bring clothes for all weathers, within reason! Bring good shoes for walking/hiking and that can deal with muddy conditions (unless you are coming at a dry time of year). We will give you some local advice a week or two before your trip. We aim to do an evening outdoor fire-pit on most of our retreats, weather permitting, so bring clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit smokey and that you can sit outside in of an evening. Don’t worry too much as we will happily lend you anything that we have if you don’t feel ideally equipped.

We will tailor walks to your fitness level so that everyone is included. You will complete a questionnaire in advance of coming where you can share your fitness level and any health issues. We will let you know the length and level of walks in advance and provide easier alternatives that you can still enjoy.

We offer different length retreats to try and fit your preferences. If you are just booking one room (as a couple or individual) then the length and dates of the retreat is set. However, if you are block booking a retreat with a group of you taking all the rooms, then we can tailor make the retreat to your preferences. Email us and we will arrange a time to have a conversation.

Yes do bring your own journal. You will also be given a reflective workbook to guide you through the retreat. This will include themes for the day, questions to journal on, your own questions that emerge and you want to pursue, free space to write your own thoughts and prayers, plus any relevant resources.

We will have some alcoholic drinks in the house with a voluntary contributions box to help with the costs, or you can bring your own to share.
However, we would not wish this to be exclusive to anyone who for religious or other reasons cannot sit at a table where there is alcohol. Please let us know this in advance and we will prioritise inclusiveness over drinking alcohol.
